Financial Support for Domestic and International StudentsDomestic StudentsStudents from AMSI member institutions are eligible for Travel and Accommodation Subsidies upon application. The accommodation has been booked and only requires you to indicate whether you will be staying at Mannix College (Monash University, Clayton Campus) on the application/registration form. If you qualify for a subsidy, your accommodation including breakfast, lunch and dinner will be paid. If you do not qualify, you will need to pay Monash University on arrival. The rate is $49.50 per night. In general no accommodation subsidies are available for students from within the Melbourne metropolitan area. However, in exceptional cases we may be able to help you if commuting to Monash from where you live is "not possible". Talk to us if you feel that this is the case. The registration fee for students from AMSI member and associate member institutions is $143. For students from other institutions the fee is $715. You are required to make your own travel arrangements. If you are from an AMSI member institution and live outside the Melbourne metropolitan area, you are eligible to apply for a travel subsidy. You will then be reimbursed for your economy air (including air port shuttle transfer), train or coach fare to and from Melbourne to a maximum amount as shown below. To claim the subsidies you must present original tax receipts upon arrival at Monash University.
Please bear in mind that these numbers are absolute maximum values. Of course, we would very much appreciate if you endeavour to obtain the cheapest economy fares available at the time (more money left for beer!). International StudentsInternational students are invited to attend the ICE-EM/AMSI Summer School. The courses are aimed at honours and postgraduate students and early career academics in mathematics and cognate disciplines. The registration fee is $AU715 (which includes GST). There are two categories of subsidies: ICE-EM Subsidies for postgraduate students or early career academics from Asian and Latin American universities, and ICE-EM PRIMA Accommodation Subsidies for postgraduate students enrolled full-time in universities that are members of the Pacific Rim Mathematical Association (PRIMA). For more details see below. If acceptable to their home institutions, students can be assessed and receive credit for one or two courses of 28 contact hours each.

The subsidies cover room and board (valued at approximately $AU2000) and a contribution of up to $AU2000 towards international and domestic travel, depending on home country. To claim your subsidy you must present original documents like tickets and receipts. International applicants pay the non-AMSI registration fee of $AU715.Applicants must be enrolled or employed full-time in a university in Asia or Latin America.
